Event Details
Fishmarket at... is an offsite season of contemporary art across Northampton whilst Fishmarket renovate their new building.
Salon Saloon is a series of monthly talks by artists and curators with opportunities for discussion and a chance to meet and network with artists, filmmakers and people working in the creative industries.
Gavin Wade is an artist and director of Eastside Projects in Birmingham, arguably one of the most exciting venues for contemporary art in the UK today. He is a Research Fellow in Curating at the University of Central England and his practice combines collaboration and developing structures within exhibitions for 'supporting' others' work and a broader enquiry into past and future utopian sites of and for art.
His projects include Painting Show (curated with Sophie von Hellerman, 2011); Dan Graham: Models & Videos (curated with Maurizio Bortolotti, 2011); This Is The Gallery And The Gallery Is Many Things, Eastside Projects (2008); Strategic Questions Venice, 52nd Venice Biennale (2007); Thin Cities, Piccadilly Line Centenary, Platform for Art, London Underground (2006-8); Public Structures, Guang Zhou Triennial, China (2005).
Gavin will be talking about his practice and Eastside Projects followed by refreshments and an informal question and answer session. The talk is free so come along and join the discussion.
This project was made possible with support from Arts Council England, Northampton Borough Council, Northamptonshire County Council.
